Historically, Berlin-Hoppegarten was the premier horse racing track in the whole of Germany but separated from West Berlin until 1989. The track and its surrounding facilities were bought in 2008 by a private investor from the German government.
Bunker was engaged to carry out the marketing and promotion of the track and its races in 2009, again creating more marketable products in the areas of sponsorship, hospitality, catering and media. In its first year of involvement alone, Bunker had not only developed innovative consumer promotions with commercial partners, involving premium brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Coca Cola, LVMH, BMW and Rocco Forte Hotels as well as partners in the financial services and real estate business, but also meaningful partnerships with media houses.
